- responsible for research groups in the USA (National Institutes of Health) and France (Pasteur University, Strasbourg)
- academic background of 15 years (medical biology, neurochemistry and pharmacology) plus industry experience since end of 90's.
- joined Tibotec-Virco a small Bio-pharmaceutical company in Belgium , world leader in R&D for HIV drug discovery, development and diagnostics. As Director Research Coordination & Funding, responsible for the co-ordination, management and administration of all publicly funded Research projects in the company and the external Research collaborations. In this position he supported the rapid growth of the company.
- serving regularly as a consultant to the European Commission and the Flemish government.
- Past-President of the European Association of Research Managers & Administrators.
- member Supervisory Board UniCRIS (Switzerland)
- member Advisory Boards of a number of start-up companies (e.g. Celtic Catalysts in Ireland, Eyytoo in Spain)
- founded RIMS bvba (in 2002), a small company close to Brussels, specialized in Management of International Research in the Life Science/Health sector (Biotech/Pharma) and early commercialization.
