Function description
Because there is an important trend towards “zero-defect” machines and products, the importance of intelligent systems for diagnostics and product inspection is rising. You will conduct applied research on machine learning algorithms for smart self-diagnostic machines and intelligent vision based product inspection systems. Feature extraction, (statistical) pattern recognition, data mining and signal processing are in scope of your research activities.
You will strengthen the team active in this field of monitoring and diagnostics. Next to more theoretical work, special attention will be paid to the implementation of the technologies in an industrial environment. You will work in close collaboration with experts from different design teams from our industrial partners and have regular contacts with mechatronics experts from knowledge centers in Belgium and abroad.
Profile
- You have an engineering degree, preferably in mechatronics, mechanics, electronics or computer science.
- You have a broad technical background, including in-depth knowledge in the field of machine learning.
- You combine fundamental know-how with practical insight in systems and applications.
- You are a result oriented team player with good communication skills. Relevant experience in the field of image processing is an asset.
