With a team of mechatronics experts, you will conduct research towards power-electronic solutions for improving the energy efficiency of electrical drive-motor combinations for varying load profiles. Also optimization strategies to reduce the overall energy consumption of a specific machine will be developed.
Next to more theoretical work, special attention will be paid to the implementation of technologies to make them applicable for a variety of industrial systems. Power measurements will be conducted to analyze the effectiveness of the proposed methods. You will work in close collaboration with experts from our industrial partners and have regular contacts with mechatronics experts from knowledge centres in Belgium and abroad.
