Important parts in this role are: identifying and acquiring new business, maintaining good customer relationships, communicate and minimize commercial risks and fulfill the role of being the knowledge supplier to the customer regarding the products, solutions and services.
The Application Engineer has or acquires a wide and deep knowledge of the own offers, customer needs and requirements in defined segments and products.
He/she will fulfill this role with a wide internal and external network, actively working in different teams according to the company's processes and policies. The candidate will develop and maintain high levels of different commercial, professional and personal skills as well as striving for continuous improvement, customer satisfaction and sustainable profitable growth.
Responsibilities
Main responsibilities are in terms of:
- Business development - Customer relations.
- Technical customer support and coordination with the technical team in the office.
- Handle pre-sales technical discussion with sales leads in order to define the technical requirements and how to meet the customer requirements using Barco Silex products.
- Maintain customer relations via phone or e-mail, or available service tools, and perform customer visits on a regular basis, in order to assess product and service satisfaction, and to field any new product ideas or current product improvements.
- Participate to the establishment of the pricing strategy.
- Work closely with the product management, engineering and sales teams to define new systems and solutions that will meet the customer needs.
- International exhibitions set up and organization (USA, Japan, others…)
Your profile
- The position requires a Master's or Bachelor's degree with experience in the field of electronic engineering.
- You can show experience in technical sales, in relevant technological field.
- You have by preference some years of electronic design experience.
- Ideally you have some knowledge and experience in network infrastructure and protocols, digital image processing, video streaming over IP or data security and encryption.
- You have by preference a very good knowledge of video processing.
- You have very good communication skills.
- You are a team player.
- You are very fluent in English, knowledge of Dutch and French are a strong advantage.
- Strong IT skills are important.
- People and Business skills are very important for internal and external contact.
- Willingness to travel 15-20 % of your time
