Background
|
|
 | | Creation of the network | | Leuven.Inc is a non-profit organisation founded in November 1999 by a group of five companies - Arthur Andersen, Fortis Bank, IMEC, KBC, and K.U.Leuven Research & Development. These founding sponsors have made a substantial contribution towards the creation of the network.
In addition, seven entrepreneurs - Dirk Callaerts, Jan Callewaert, Jos Peeters, Wilfried Vancraen, Urbain Vandeurzen, Johan Van den Bossche and Jos Verjans - have given their full support to the Leuven.Inc initiative. Each of these entrepreneurs has joined Leuven.Inc as a founder member.
The chairman of Leuven.Inc is Prof.dr.ir. Koenraad Debackere, Managing Director and Chairman of the Gemma Frisius Foundation.
All the other above mentioned companies/members belong to the Board of Leuven.Inc and are considered to be the creators of the non profit organisation.
Since Leuven.Inc's inception, more than 80 other companies and 400 individuals have also decided to become part of the network.
New members - both companies and individuals - are joining daily as Leuven.Inc gains momentum.
Networking Events
Leuven.inc offers diverse formulas of networking events to her members:
- Entrepreneurs'Café (closed activity - members only)
The Entrepeneurs'café combines a company visit with an interesting on-site discussion on a specific 'hot' topic in the area of entrepreneurship. About 6 companies a year open their doors for a similar networking event.
- Visionary Workshop/Seminar
The distinct visionary focus of these seminars gives an insight in the expected trends of the near future. You can evaluate your present-day product or technology and steer its development in the right direction to keep up with your competitors.
- Open Meetings
Yearly over 15 events are organised with a specific theme, based on present-day evolutions on the international market. These meetings are open for members and non-members.
- Seminar Programs
Seminar Programs are open events composed of a number of modules around a specific theme. Each module goes further into a certain aspect of this theme by means of guest speakers (professors, company experts, 'in the field' professionals).
